20 May 2022
Official Apiary opening at 2pm
Subject Special Event
Topic National Bee Day
This National Honey Bee Day at RHS Garden Harlow Carr we are celebrating by officially opening and naming our new Apiary at the top of South Field, which houses up to 20 hives.
Weather permitting, we will be opening up the hives and showing you inside and giving a brief introduction to beekeeping. There will be many honey bee enthusiasts on site so if you are interested in looking into keeping bees yourself, this is the place to be.
Located in The Lodge, we will also have a virtual beehive, giving visitors a glimpse into the bee habitat.
National Honey Bee Day also kicks off a whole week of half-term activities from 28 May, all about bees and how important they are in our gardens.
