Ivor Flatman, a former Regional Bee Inspector Ivor will be giving a talk on how to control and prevent colonies of bees from swarming.
This event will be held at the Hives and Honey Pavilion at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate.
Refreshments will be available from 7.00pm, with the talk starting at 7.30pm
From Hookstone Drive turn onto Hookstone Wood Road (HG2 8PN).
Proceed down a straight section of road with houses on the left and woodland on the right until you come to a junction, where you should follow the road around to the right. After about 100m the Squash Club building is on the left and the road crosses a more open area.
Keep on the road, passing a parking area on the right and a road to a main vehicle gate to the showground on the left. There is now a new gate and fence across this area – go through it and head for the small double gate called the ‘Education’ gate in the perimeter fence, 60m beyond the gatehouse.
This opens onto a track leading to the Hives and Honey Pavilion. Car parking is generally on the rough ground outside this gate, with limited space in front of the pavilion for people with mobility problems and those bringing equipment.
